Contemporary Crystal Brick house, Japan

The major request from the client is the space both for two family should be sunny and bright like the various crystals which gathered by the client as their hobby. We had intended to make architecture which wall is made of glass blocks which works as the structure itself considering the request from the client from the beginning. We collaborated with structural engineers, manufacturing interests, construction companies and laboratory in the university to do experimental test to achieve the concept.

The major and the most important concept on our recent thinking about architecture is “masonry”. This means the architecture which has no-hierarchy on the relationship between individuality and totality achieved by the stacking same objects on the total system of structure of the architecture.
