The Rafter L Ranch is one of the most scenic and beautiful Trophy Ranches in Central California. Located about 18 miles southeast of the quaint little town of Santa Margarita in San Luis Obispo County, the ranch borders the quaint and even more little town of Pozo and the Los Padres National Forest. The ranch was an original farmstead with improvements built in the 1920’s. Over the years, new structures have been added including the main ranch house of about 2,200 square feet. It is a three bedroom, two and a half bath home with a rock fireplace, built in bookshelves, tile, skylight and enclosed porch.

Other improvements on the ranch include a small guest house, a large foreman’s house, and several garages, barns, and horse facilities. An extensive quality series of roads wind throughout the ranch. Irrigated pastures, walkways, fencing and landscaping are also abundant. For access, there is a 2,800 foot long dirt airstrip that was actively used by prior owners. Approximately 29 acres of vineyard are on the ranch, mostly planted to Syrah grapes.

The main draw to this ranch, however, is the land itself. The topography varies from flat farmland and pasture to oak covered hills and valleys. The Salinas river winds through the southeastern portion of the ranch. As you can see by browsing through the photographs at the left, the land has a little bit of everything – pasture, rocks, majestic oaks, and gorgeous views in every direction. A beautiful and private environment is here at this ranch. View Listing on www.coastalranch.com
